Booking a flight

At Time in Spain Holidays, we are always being asked to recommend where to find the best value for money flights. To help you find the best flights at the lowest prices, we would like to pass onto you the following ideas. We have come up with the following web sites as what we feel are the most helpful ways to book your flights to the Costa del Sol.

ONE FINAL TIP... When flying to th Costa del Sol, the main airport that people think of flying to is Malaga, however, be aware that you can also fly into Gibraltar and now also Jerez de la Frontera. Jerez (pronounced 'Hereth') is a small airport but is becoming more popular since the building of the new fast motorway link to the Costa del Sol. If you really are stuck for reasonable flight prices to Malaga or Gibraltar then give Jerez a try. To give you an idea of distance, the drive to Estepona will take you about 1.5 hours from Jerez, 40 minutes from Gibraltar and about one hour from Malaga. Ryanair regularly offers flights for 1 pound to Jerez at the moment.

Carbon Offsetting

www.treeflights.com estimate (very conservatively) that each tree they plant will ultimately absorb around 500Kgs of CO2 (half a ton) and since a return flight from Heathrow to Malaga will release about 370Kgs you can be very confident that planting one tree for each return ticket would be sufficient compensation. In all likelihood our trees will absorb far more than 500kgs but we like to err on the side of caution because of the lengthy timescales involved.

Many customers like the choice of planting sites and we are busy setting up other tree planting projects in Kenya and Sumatra at the moment. Long-term, we hope to have a planting site down in Andalusia (near Lanjaron) as well.

British Airways

More and more, British Airways are tending to become one of the cheaper airlines to fly with to the Costa del Sol. This link will provide you with a comparison of all British Airways flights along with many of their companion airlines such as the Spanish carriers like Iberia and Spanair.

Sky Scanner

This company is also very useful in finding the perfect flight. They provide an excellent easy-to-read chart which shows all the cheapest flights with all the low cost carriers (except British Airways again) If you are flexible on dates then this is a really good website to use.
